Affordable Housing
Will you take the lead to amend zoning restrictions in order to free up land so as to lower costs of housing for first-home buyers?
  Maybe
I agree with concept of affordable housing for first-home buyers and would be happy to explore amending zoning restriction as a possible means of achieving this.

Alcohol Outlets
Will you introduce bylaws and lobby for the restriction of alcohol outlets in residential areas and reduce the number of licences issued and trading hours
  Maybe
I agree that alcohol plays a major role in crime statisics and family violence and would be keen to explore all ideas that might lead to a reduction in these very saddening statistics.

Billboards
Will you introduce bylaws and lobby for G-rated public billboards with a pre-vetting system
  No
I am satisfied with laws already in place to monitor the content of public billboards. I do not think the "G-Rating" system is appropriate, workable or practical in the circumstances.

Brothels
Will you introduce and lobby for bylaws restricting brothels in residential areas and close to sensitive sites such as schools, kindergartens, playgrounds and shopping areas frequented by families and children
  No
I believe there are laws already in place to monitor brothels in the circumstances described.

Facilities for family events
Will you introduce a bylaw preventing the hireage and use of Council owned buildings and facilities for R-rated events?
  No
I am a very strong proponent of Freedom of Expression and am satisfied with the extensive terms and conditions that already apply for the hireage and use of Council owned buildings and facilities. A Council facility such as the Aotea Centre does not become contaminated as a facility for family events merely by also hosting plays, concerts or dance pieces that may contain adult themes, language and nudity. As an R-rating is always in the eyes of the beholder, it is impossible to monitor. I have no interest and will play no role in imposing arbitrary, subjective or ideological restrictions of any kind in this area. So long as as the law is obeyed and the extensive terms and conditions that already apply for the hireage and use of Council owned buildings and facilities are met, I am highly satisfied.

GST on Rates
Will you campaign for parliament to remove GST on Rates?
  Maybe
A tax on a tax seems the definition of unfairness and a gratuitous, rather cynical revenue stream. I be very keen to know more about how this can be addressed.

Loan Sharks
Will you lobby the government for greater regulation of loan sharks - especially those targeting lower socio-economic areas - including capped interest rates and registration
  Not Sure
I would have to do some homework on this issue before offering any constructive feedback

Pokies
Will you introduce and lobby for a reducing lid policy on pokie machines, especially in low socio-economic areas
  Maybe
I agree that gambling poses a serious problem within some communities and would be keen to explore all ideas that might lead to a reduction in these very saddening statistics.

Public nudity / marches
Will you lobby the government to clarify offensive behaviour under the Crimes Act in order to prevent parades involving nudity and/or offensive behaviour eg boobs on bikes, beach nudity
  No
I am satisfied with the current definition of offensive behaviour under the Crimes Act.

Street Prostitution
Will you introduce and lobby for bylaws to ban street prostitution?
  No
I believe the private lives of consenting adults should remain their sole affair.
