Easter Shop Trading
There has been two attempts recently to liberalize trading laws regarding Easter trading. NZ workers enjoy only 3 1/2 statutory holidays each year and some politicians want to take away the right to another two of these. Christmas and Easter are important family and religious events which also underpin our Judeo-Christian heritage as a country. Any inconsistencies in the current law should be fixed - but we should not do away with the statutory holidays altogether.
